Dr. Oluwatoyin Olamilere Oyekanmi is a Nigerian-born, South African-based entrepreneur, political leader, and media professional with a dynamic career spanning business, public service, and creative industries. He is the founder and beneficial owner of multiple companies across South Africa and Nigeria, including Jollof Café, a thriving West African restaurant brand, and TEM Productions Limited, a media and film production company.

Five years ago, Jollof Café was just an idea.
Today, as I reflect on the journey, I am grateful for what faith, resilience, consistency, and an incredible team have helped us build. In the last five years, we have grown from a startup concept into a multi-location African restaurant brand with operations in Johannesburg and Cape Town. Today, Jollof Café proudly operates from:
- Morning Glen Shopping Centre, Sandton, Johannesburg
- Kyalami on Main Shopping Centre, Midrand, Johannesburg
- Kloof Nek Road, Tamboerskloof, Cape Town
- Makers Landing, V&A Waterfront, Cape Town
- Corporate Head Office at Nelson Mandela Square, Sandton
What started as a passion for sharing African cuisine has evolved into something much bigger.
We have built a brand that celebrates African culture, connects communities through food, creates employment opportunities, and showcases the richness of African hospitality.

Along the way, we have created jobs, served thousands of customers, built strong partnerships, developed operational systems, and established a platform for future growth across South Africa and beyond.
The journey has not been easy.
There were moments of uncertainty, difficult decisions, operational challenges, financial pressures, and countless lessons. Yet every challenge strengthened our resolve to keep building.
One lesson stands above all others: meaningful businesses are not built overnight. They are built through consistency, sacrifice, persistence, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
I am grateful to our customers, staff, suppliers, partners, mentors, family, and everyone who has believed in the vision of Jollof Café.
The first five years were about building the foundation.
The next five years will be about scaling the vision.
We are only getting started.
